Apple Valley: Golden Eagles look to improve in '07-'08

For Apple Valley boys skaters, improvement is mandatory

By Mike Shaughnessy

Apple Valley's boys hockey players and coaches don't spend much time discussing last season. They have already agreed they don't want to relive it.

Rosemount '07-'08 Outlook: Irish return 15 seniors to varsity

Rosemount's boys hockey team hopes for a breakout year

By Mike Shaughnessy

Rosemount has the most returning players of any boys hockey team in the Lake Conference. And maybe the most to prove, too.

The Irish have 15 seniors on their roster who were on varsity last year. Five of them just finished competing in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League, a fall league that attracts many of the state's top players.

But they had a losing record (12-14-1) last year and still some work to do before clearing space in their trophy case.

Ken Pauly Returns to Benilde-St. Margaret's

Courtesy of the Plymouth Sun-Sailor

By John Sherman

After three seasons as head coach of the Minnetonka High boys hockey team, Ken Pauly is back in business at his old school, Benilde-St. Margaret's High.

In his stint away from home, Pauly continued to coach at a high level, taking Tonka to the state Class AA tournament in 2006.

Now, he will try to do the same thing at BSM.

FollowThePuck.com's Purpose

I have had some input in regards to this website. I'd like to discuss the feedback I've received.

This site will focus 99 percent of the time on the coverage and happenings regarding Minnesota high school hockey. Any other stories or links or other hockey information are fill-ins. Most of the fill-ins will consist of information on players that have moved on to the next level or on players that have played high school hockey in Minnesota in the past.

Right now, because the website is brand new and the 2007-2008 hockey season has not started in Minnesota, there are not many stories about the upcoming high school hockey scene to dominate the coverage. The fill-ins are not meant to discourage anyone on what this site is intended for.

We are two weeks away from the Minnesota state boys high school hockey season. I am working on completing all of the schedules and I am gathering more information on the teams for this upcoming season. As the season gets closer and when the season is in full force, stories and articles about the current 2007-2008 season will dominate this website.

I appreciate everyone's input. This is a new site. I am, with the input of others, still in the process of deciding what type of information should be posted on this site. The purpose is to put a positive focus on Minnesota high school hockey and its teams. I encourage anyone to email me at FollowThePuck@sio.midco.net to share your thoughts about the site and its coverage. I do have an open mind and will consider all of the input that I receive.

Thank you.
