ST. CLOUD -- Rochester Lourdes snapped to life late in the second period, but it was a little too late as the seventh-ranked Eagles suffered a 3-2 loss at St. Cloud Cathedral here Friday.
Cathedral is ranked sixth in the latest Class A boys hockey state poll, and the Crusaders lived up to that ranking early. They scored the first three goals of the game -- two in the first period and one in the second.
The Eagles dropped to 3-2-0 this season, but three of their five games have come against teams ranked in the top 15 in the state. Lourdes' two losses have come on the road against teams ranked in the top six.
