Section 4AA Playoffs - Team-By-Team Preview

Section 4AA Playoff Preview

My pick: Hill-Murray

Hill-Murray is not a difficult choice to make in this Section. They easily defeated White Bear Lake twice during the regular season 6-3 and 5-3. White Bear Lake defeated Roseville once, tied once, and lost once. Hill-Murray did not face Roseville during the regular season. The Pioneers did stumble against Tartan back in December but revenged that loss with a win against the Titans in January 6-0.

If any team knocks the Pioneers off the top, Roseville may have a shot with Ben Podobinski in goal. His 1.75 goals against average and 92.7 save percentage could make a difference. However, the Pioneers would have to be completely taken off their game and an opposing goalie would have to be standing on their head all night to stop Dan Cecka and company. The state's top senior goalie, Frank Brimsek Award winner, Joe Phillippi, is pretty good in goal himself.

The Pioneers are the only well-rounded and balanced team in this section.
