It was all Hill-Murray in that first period. Great saves by Joe Phillippi and intense offense by Ryan Furne and Dan Cecka.

Ryan Furne ended the first period with a wild shot from beyond the blue line that seemed to handcuff Derrick Caschetta with just .1 second left on the clock. He also scored the first goal of the game and the period.

Somewhere in the middle of the period, Isaac Kohls took a shot from the middle that rebounded to Caschetta's left. Dan Cecka was standing there with an open net, he tried to control the puck and stuff it in. The puck hit the near post and then slid across the crease and hit the other post.

Edina is playing better defense tonight but they are back on their heels. Their big three are going to have to step up now.

The Pioneers' Joe Phillippi is making his case for MVP of the tournament. He looks solid in goal.

2nd Period:

No Scoring

Edina dominated on the offensive end but this is the Joe Phillippi show. He has been amazing. He stopped 15 Hornets shots in the second period and most were point blank shots. He seems very calm and in position every time.

3rd Period:

Joe Phillippi, Joe Phillippi, Joe Phillippi: A name to remember for a long time. Excellent tournament for the senior who allowed only two goals the entire tournament and the only goaltender to shut out an incredible offensive machine in the Edina Hornets.
