Updates & Stuff

The
schedule for today is updated.

I have updated a lot of team schedules with the scores from the last couple days but I have a lot more to do. Holiday tournaments are the most time consuming of the year to try and update manually. I don't only update the scores but I have to update the schedule with the opponent the next day, etc..

I was not able to catch up with the scoring summaries either. If I did not have a junior hockey game to go to tonight, I would just stay up through the day to get caught up. But, I need some sleep. I'm going to catch about 5 hours and update the site with morning scores from today's action.

New Year's Day will be a good day to catch up and watch the Schwan Cup championship games on FSN. Also, don't forget that the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks are playing outside at Wrigley Field at Noon on NBC. The Schwan Cup games start at 3:00 PM.

I'm missing scores from the Chisago Lakes Tournament and I am missing the North Metro vs. Park Rapids Area score from the Eveleth-Gilbert Tournament. I think that may be all I am missing.

The Schwan Cup has been pretty interesting to say the least. It knocked off three of the top five teams in Class AA. I'm really looking forward to the Edina vs. Holy Angels matchup on New Year's Day. If Holy Angels pulls that one out, I will be really regretting putting the Stars below Duluth East and Centennial this past week in the rankings. There was no logical reason to move them from fourth to sixth. Let's just call it a relapse in judgment influenced by other outside sources.

You may not have noticed yet but Duluth Marshall knocked off the #1 team in Wisconsin on Tuesday night. They defeated Madison Edgewood 3-1 at the Hilltopper Classic. Today, they face Appleton in the championship game. Appleton is the #2 team in the state of Wisconsin.

Warroad had their first real scare of the season. The Osseo Orioles took them to overtime before Chris Sylvester scored five minutes into the extra session. Chris Sylvester also scored the game-tying goal with 12 seconds left to send it to overtime. If I'm not mistaken, I think Sylvester scored the last two goals of the game against Fargo North in their 11-0 win on Monday. I guess Sylvester is a late-gamer.

Games I'd like to see on Wednesday:

12:30 PM: Centennial vs. Hill-Murray (Aldrich)
1:15 PM: Rochester Mayo vs. Rochester Century (Graham One Arena)
2:30 PM: Alexandria vs. Roseau (Roseau Memorial)
3:15 PM: Duluth Marshall vs. Appleton (WI) (MARS Lakeview)
5:00 PM: New Prague vs. Little Falls (Exhange Arena)
5:45 PM: AA: Apple Valley vs. Fargo South (Graham One Arena)
5:30 PM: A: International Falls vs. Rochester Lourdes (Graham Four Arena)
6:00 PM: Burnsville vs. Duluth East (Aldrich)
7:00 PM: New Prague vs. Little Falls (Exhange Arena)

Thank you for your patience on getting caught up. I may be all caught up by the end of the day tomorrow.
