I had to say something about what former Cloquet Lumberjack Jamie Langenbrunner has been doing since the All-Star Break, which was last weekend.
In three games this past week, Langenbrunner earned the first star in ALL THREE games.
On Tuesday, Langenbrunner scored two goals, his 9th and 10th of the season, in a 4-1 New Jersey win over Ottawa.
On Thursday, Langenbrunner scored another two goals AT Boston, a team that rarely loses at home, in a 4-3 Devils win in overtime. He scored the first goal of the game, shorthanded, his 11th of the season, and then he scored the overtime goal 1:11 into the extra period, his 12th of the season. He also had an assist in the game. That is first star #2 on the week for Jamie.
On Friday, Langenbrunner scored yet another two goals and, WOW, they were more dramatic than the first two games of the week. Down 3-1 to Pittsburgh late in the 3rd period, Langenbrunner scored the game-tying goal, his 13th of the year, with just 31 seconds left in the game. Then, four minutes into overtime, he sends a one-timer to the back of the net. Incredible.
