Next season, I believe new East Ridge High School of Woodbury and new Chanhassen High School will start their the first ever varsity hockey seasons.
Does anyone know where these teams will play their home games? What current high school teams, if any, will give up some of their current varsity/junior varsity players to the new schools?
Also, from emails I have received, it looks like Northern Lakes will be moving down to Class A next year since only three of the five co-oped schools actually have players on the team.
Are there other teams that may move down to Class A or may move up to Class AA in 2009-2010?
Zimmerman co-oped with Rogers last year and they are with Elk River this season. Will they have their own team soon?
St. Thomas Academy has been a team that has been talked about quite a bit. Since they play 50% of their games against Class AA teams, are they getting serious about the thought of moving up? No other Class A team comes close to having that many AA teams on their schedule.
If you have any answers to these questions or you have info on other teams not mentioned that will go through changes next season, I'd like to hear from you. Thank you!
