Here are the changes to the Minnesota high school hockey Section assignments for the 2009-2010 season.
Class A:
Section 1A (11 teams): No changes
Section 2A (12 teams):
Moving to Section 5A are Meadow Creek Christian, Rogers, and St. Michael-Albertville
Section 3A (10 teams):
Moving to Section 6A is Willmar
Section 4A (11 teams):
Add the new East Ridge High School
Add St. Paul Johnson who moved over from Section 4AA
Section 5A (12 teams):
Add Meadow Creek Christian, Rogers, and St. Michael-Albertville who all moved over from Section 2A
Section 6A (10 teams):
Add Willmar who moved over from Section 3A
Add Northern Lakes from 8AA
Section 7A (10 teams): No changes
Section 8A (10 teams):
Bemidji is moving to 8AA
Class AA:
Section 1AA (9 teams):
Moving to Section 2AA is St. Peter/LeSueur-Henderson/Montgomery-Lonsdale
Section 2AA (9 teams):
Add St. Peter/LeSueur-Henderson/Montgomery-Lonsdale who moved over from Section 1AA
Chanhassen, a new high school, will coop with Chaska this season.
Section 3AA (9 teams): No changes
Section 4AA (9 teams):
Moving to Section 4A is St. Paul Johnson
Section 5AA (9 teams):
Add Anoka who moved over from Section 7AA
Section 6AA (9 teams): No changes
Section 7AA (9 teams):
Anoka is moving to Section 5AA
Section 8AA (10 teams):
Add Bemidji who moved from Section 8A
Northern Lakes is moving to Section 6A
