Hill-Murray Pioneers: 2007-2008 State Class AA Champions | Where are the seniors (and some juniors) now?


Here is an update on some of the seniors, and a few juniors, that played on the 2007-2008 state championship team for the Hill-Murray Pioneers:

Joe Phillippi | Goaltender | 07-08 State All-Tournament Team selection
2008 Herb Brooks Award Winner
Fairbanks Ice Dogs | NAHL (Junior Hockey A Tier II)
13 wins, 2 losses, 3 ties | 3 SO | 2.06 gaa | .937 saves %
Note: The Ice Dogs have clinched the West Division of the NAHL.

Ryan Furne | Forward | 2007-2008 State All-Tournament Team selection
Green Bay Gamblers | USHL (Junior Hockey A Tier I)
52 games | 18 goals, 21 assists, 39 points | +16 plus/minus | 49 PIM
Note: Green Bay has clinched a playoff spot and are tied for first place in the East Division with the Indiana Ice. The Gamblers are 35-14-4 on the season.

Dan Sova | Defenseman | 2007-2008 State All-Tournament Team selection
Waterloo Black Hawks | USHL (Junior Hockey A Tier I)
50 games | 2 goals, 23 assists, 25 points | +16 plus/minus | 92 PIM
Note: Waterloo has also clinched a playoff spot and they are three points behind Green Bay and Indiana. The Black Hawks are 34-17-3.

Dan Cecka | Forward | 2007-2008 State All-Tournament Team selection
Owatonna Express | NAHL (Junior Hockey A Tier II)
24 games | 15 goals, 15 assists, 30 points | +10 plus/minus | 35 PIM
Note: Cecka started the season playing with the Indiana Ice where he played 13 games and accumulated three goals and one assist for four points, a -1 plus/minus, and four penalty minutes.

The Owatonna Express (29-23-4) have clinched a playoff spot and are in third place in the Central Division.

Andy Singerhouse | Forward
Note: He played for the Okotoks Oilers in the Albert Junior Hockey League up until early December and then moved back to Wisconsin according to a report I found on the web. In 37 games, Singerhouse scored seven goals and nine assists for 16 points with a zero plus/minus and 36 penalty minutes.

Note: Kohls was a part of the 2008-2009 Hill-Murray team too but was one of the four from the varsity roster that were removed from the team in January 2009.

Paul Prescott | Defenseman
Note: Prescott, like Kohls, was one of the players that were removed from the 2008-2009 varsity roster for Hill-Murray. He had played three games for Alexandria of the NAHL in January and once in early February. No other information was available.
