Notes:
Breck smothered Ben Hanowski and the Flyers all game long. Breck's speed and finesse along with John Russell's play in goal was the difference. The Mustangs turned careless Little Falls turnovers into goals on almost every occasion.
I do have to give Little Falls' Wesley Waytashek a badge of vigor or some sort of IRON MAN aware for his play in this game. He was hit over and over and over again and he played hard to the end. In one play, he came into the Breck zone trying to split the two defensemen and they gave him a one-two crush to the ice. In another, a Breck player took Waytashek right into Flyers goalie Michael Sperl and into the net's crossbar hard.
Little Falls had a great season in spite of falling just short of the championship game. Central Minnesota will get their wish for a St. Cloud Cathedral vs. Little Falls matchup. Unfortunately, it will be for third place.
