The top four seeds for state: Who I think they should be

Here are my thoughts on who I think the seeding the top four teams in each Class for the state tournament should be.

Class AA

1. Edina | Edina defeated Eden Prairie, 4-3, during the season while Edina just defeated Bloomington Jefferson as Eden Prairie did. Edina's win was more decisive. Edina also crushed Blaine 8-4 in their only meeting during the year.

2. Eden Prairie | Only losses were to Edina and Bloomington Jefferson during the year.

3. Blaine | Blaine defeated Duluth East during the regular season 5-3 and both have identical records at 24-3-1.

4. Duluth East

Class A

1. Little Falls | The Flyers schedule was not the most difficult but it was not bad. Their undefeated season playing an average schedule should trump any other criteria.

2. Breck School | The Mustang's record has one less win, one more loss than St. Cloud Cathedral and Warroad but they played a tougher schedule.

3. St. Cloud Cathedral | The Crusaders defeated Warroad head-to-head, 4-2, with only a tie the difference in records.

4. Warroad

Mahtomedi's great win against St. Thomas Academy should not be enough to get them in the top four.

Virginia/MIB's 23-5-0 record is great but not better than the top four.
