Forward Kyle Rau (Eden Prairie) decided to fore go playing in the Bauer NIT this last weekend. He was on the Minnesota Red roster. Rau, however, was suited up for the USHL's Sioux Falls Stampede for Friday's game at Lincoln and Saturday night's game in Sioux Falls against Youngstown. Rau assisted on two goals on Saturday in Sioux Falls' 8-4 win over the Phantoms.
Forward Joey Benik (St. Francis), Minnesota high school's leading scorer in 2009-2010, is playing for the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League in Canada. Benik has 9 goals, 7 assists in 21 games so far this season. Benik is a St. Cloud State recruit.
