1. Rochester Lourdes
F Landon Farrell (12) - 31 pts (15g, 16a)
F Alex Funk (11) - 31 pts (12g, 19a)
- Outstanding goaltender Nick Heimer is gone and the defensive core will be young this season. So, the Eagles will not be as good as last year but will still have plenty to win another Section 1A title.
2. New Prague
3. Albert Lea
F Levi Hacker (12) - 33 pts (18g, 15a)2. New Prague
G Joe Morris (11) - 10 wins, 2.75 GAA, .909 save percentage
F Cody Meyer (11) - 18 pts (8g, 10a)
D Jack Pexa (11) - 12 pts (4g, 8a)
- Joe Morris is the best goaltender in the Section. He led the Trojans to the Section 1A championship game against Rochester Lourdes as a sophomore. He saved 28 of 30 shots in a 2-0 loss. The Trojans only put 14 shots on Nick Heimer in that game. Trojans need to find a way to score more goals and I think they will.
3. Albert Lea
G Griffin Wangen (12) - 13 wins, 2.91 GAA, .902 save percentage
F Nate Stadheim (11) - 13 pts (7g, 6a)
- Eric Carlson departed a year early to Fairbanks of the NAHL. If he would have stuck around, Albert Lea would have had a legitimate shot at dethroning Rochester Lourdes. Hacker had some good numbers last year and may improve on them this year but not at same level as Carlson.
4. Red Wing
F Mike Stegora (12) - 22 pts (12g, 10a)4. Red Wing
F Alex Rezansoff (11) - 17 pts (11g, 6a)
D Jack Stusz (12) - 14 pts (4g, 10a)
- The Wingers return all except for senior forward Austin Anderson and senior goaltender Sam Amendolar. Amendolar played in 24 of the 25 games in goal last season. Amendolar will be missed but the team should be better this season even when a new goaltender steps in.
5. Mankato West
F Landon Brown (12) - 19 pts (14g, 5a)F Tyler Mata (12) - 17 pts (8g, 9a)
D Scott McKissick (10) - 12 pts (3g, 9a)
- The Scarlets lost the most due to graduation. They scored 143 goals during last year's regular season. They return players that scored 38 of those goals this season. That is a goal production loss of 73 percent. The senior goaltender Jake Kaufman is gone too. Unless they acquired another talented foreign exchange student like 2010-2011 state goal-scoring champion Ville Rantanen (48 goals), the Scarlets are going to be down this season.
6. Northfield
F Andrew Scofield (11) - 34 pts (22g, 12a)G Isaak Tjaden (12) - 7 wins, 3.03 GAA, .899 save percentage
F Taylor Freiermuth (11) - 12 pts (3g, 9a)
7. Faribault
F Cody Colegrove (11) - 18 pts (8g, 10a)D Conner Weirshem (11) - 15 pts (5g, 10a)
G Cody Morsching (11) - 5 wins, 2.97 GAA, .901 save percentage
8. LeSueur-Henderson/St. Peter/LeCenter/Montgomery-Lonsdale
D Jack Swanberg (12) - 24 pts (17g, 7a)G Chris Amsden (11) - 11 wins, 3.12 GAA, .916 save percentage
D Jordan Wilmes (12) - 15 pts (7g, 8a)
9. Austin
F Ethan Larson (11) - 18 pts (9g, 9a)D Marcus Stoulil (11) - 17 pts (10g, 7a)
F Preston Moe (12) - 11 pts (5g, 6a)
10. La Crescent
F Brandon Guzman (12) - 20 pts (9g, 11a)
F Justin Paul (10) - 14 pts (10g, 4a)
F Troy Traxler (12) - 14 pts (6g, 8a)
11. Waseca
G Austin Stroda (11) - 10 wins, 3.34 GAA, .885 save percentageF Kyle Quast (12) - 19 pts (10g, 9a)
F Matt Metzdorff (12) - 18 pts (9g, 9a)
12. Mankato East/Loyola
F Ben Neyers (12) - 11 pts (4g, 7a)F Dylan Boettcher (12) - 8 pts (8g, 2a)
