1. Little Falls
G Michael Stumpf (11) - 17 wins, 1.50 GAA, .935 save percentage
F Joey Hanowski (12) - 47 pts (30g, 17a)
F Ben Newman (11) - 38 pts (15g, 23a)
- The Flyers won 20 regular season games during the 2010-2011 season.

- Expectations were high for a deep playoff run.   First up in the quarterfinals was St. Cloud Apollo, a team that had won only five times in the regular season.  Little Falls defeated the Eagles twice during the regular season, 8-1 and 5-3.  Unfortunately for the Flyers, they ran into a hot goaltender in Charlie Pentz and lost 3-1.

- Little Falls is coming back loaded and very deep this season (and most likely 2012-2013), returning 105 goals from a 124-goal season.

- Of those returning, nine were sophomores, six were juniors, and they had one freshman, forward Mark Anez who scored four goals for the Flyers.

- Hanowski, Newman, Austin Bjorge (10), and Luke Majerle (10) are all back having scored double-figures in goals.  Last season's team averaged almost five goals per game.

- Junior Michael Stumpf had the third best save percentage (.935) in Class A last season with a 1.50 goals against average.  The Flyers were stingy at giving up goals.

- Little Falls should be even better this year at both ends of the rink.

- The only thing standing in the Flyers way of making a March visit to the Xcel Energy Center will be another Pentz-like performance.

2. Fergus Falls
F Blake Brazil (11) - 35 pts (20g, 15a)
F Jake Ahlgren (11) - 31 pts (10g, 21a)
D Peter Gaustad (12) - 17 pts (4g, 13a)
- The Otters will return two good goal scorers on the top end and depth at defense (Gaustad, Wahlgren, Nathe, Colling, Okerstrom).

- Little Falls matched the Flyers to a 4-4 tie in their first meeting early last season but then lost 3-0 in the rematch later on.

- The Otters may have something for Little Falls if the new goaltender is solid.

3. Alexandria
F Jordan Domine (12) - 25 pts (13g, 12a)
G Ben Allen (11) - 4 wins, 3.31 GAA, .894 save percentage
F Tom Schmidt (11) - 20 pts (10g, 10a)
- The Cardinals return as the Section 6A defending champions.

- Most of the offense and a very good goaltending tandem in Allen and senior Erich Murphy will be back.

- The Alexandria defense, though, will need to rebuild.  Senior Garrett Skinner is the only d-man returning.

4. Morris/Benson Area
F Kelly Engquist (12) - 38 pts (14g, 24a)
F Tanner Picht (11) - 36 pts (15g, 21a)
F Luke Schwarz (12) -34 pts (19g, 15a)
- The Storm are my sleeper of the Section.

- Morris/Benson Area return a lot of scoring (80+ goals) from a 16-win season and most of the defense should be back.

- I see the Storm doing more than roll over the weaker 3A and 6A teams this season.

- I am assuming senior Paden Stratz will be the starter in goal and he will need to be tough.

- The Storm's first three games of the season against Willmar, Spring Lake Park, and Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato should tell us right away whether or not this team has enough strength to be a legitimate Section contender.

5. Prairie Centre Area
F Cody Bartkowicz (12) - 38 pts (19g, 19a)
F Nate Mettenberg (11) - 37 pts (22g, 15a)
F Tyler Schultz (12) - 24 pts (14g, 10a)
- The North Stars are prime to make a historic move up in Section 6A.

- Prairie Centre Area have ALL of their goal scoring, 80 goals, back from last year.

- The North Stars defense and goaltending should be better with everyone back.

- Prairie Centre Area is actually a little deeper than a Morris/Benson Area team.  This team has the potential to be one of their best teams so far in their history.

6. Sartell-St. Stephen
F Blake Guggenburger (12) 21 pts (5g, 16a)
F Michael Whitson (12) 17 pts (7g, 10a)
D Christian Murray (12) 15 pts (4g, 11a)

7. Willmar
G Christian Yrttimaa (12) 13 wins, 2.40 GAA, .916 save percentage
F Hunter Schneider (11) - 13 pts (8g ,5a)
F Zech Streed (11) - 13 pts (6g, 7a)

8. St. Cloud Apollo
F Jared Christen (11) - 26 pts (13g, 13a)
F Bryan Benson (12) - 26 pts (13g, 13a)
F Paul Kenny (10) - 17 pts (8g, 9a)

9. Breckenridge/Wahpeton
F Cody Bronson (12) - 30 pts (24g, 6a)
G Wyatt Hedrick (12) - 3 wins, 4.98 GAA, .871 save percentage
F Tyler Gripentrog (11) - 11 pts (4g, 7a)

10. Wadena-Deer Creek
F Bridger Pettit (11) - 31 pts (19g, 12a)
D Mitchell Swanson (11) - 17 pts (11g, 6a)
F David Najjar (12) - 17 pts (7g, 10a)
