IN THE NEWS: Edina Hornets - Alumni

The story below is about Tom Carlsen who used to play for Edina in the 60's and the University of Minnesota in the early 70's. It is a very good story about Carlsen's life from athlete to sports doctor. He currently lives in Bend, Oregon and is set to retire. At the end of the article, he describes how, if he had his way, would be spending his days playing pick-up hockey, outdoors, in Minnesota. It shows a photo of Doctor Carlsen and some of his sports memorabilia around him.

Retiring sports doctor brought wealth of knowledge to Bend

If only the weather had been better in Missoula, Mont., Dr. Tom Carlsen might never have come to Bend. Fresh out of a sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles in 1981, Carlsen arrived to interview for a position as the team doctor at the University of Montana on a gray, dreary day.
