Hermantown prepares for Hockey Day Minnesota 2010!
HERMANTOWN, MN – Fox Sports North and the Minnesota Wild have announced plans for Hockey Day Minnesota 2010 which will take place in Hermantown, a community located 5 miles outside of Duluth. This year’s event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 23, 2010, will be the fourth annual event. Previous events have taken place in Baudette and St. Paul. The event was created as a way to showcase, celebrate and promote the game of hockey.
Plans for Hockey Day Minnesota 2010 Hermantown are well underway. Three high school games are scheduled to take place at the Hermantown Hockey Complex (4309 Ugstad Road) on outdoor rink #3 and will air on Fox Sports North:
10:00 a.m.: Hopkins vs. Duluth Marshall
1:30 p.m.: Eden Prairie vs. Hermantown
4:30 p.m.: Duluth North Stars vs. Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall
A flyover by the 148th Fighter Wing Bulldogs is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
Information, tickets and event merchandise are available now by visiting the event website: www.hockeyday2010.com . Tickets are $12 for adults (age 19 and up) and $8 for students (K-12th grades). Ages 5 and under get in free. Tickets purchased are good for the entire event and must be worn on the outside of jackets at all times.

Several volunteers are needed for specific duties the day of the event. A volunteer kick-off meeting will be held at The Lodge at Skyline Lanes in Hermantown on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Anyone interested in serving as a volunteer for Hockey Day Minnesota 2010 Hermantown is invited and encouraged to attend the kick-off meeting.
Hockey Day Minnesota 2010 Hermantown is being organized by a team of community volunteers with representations from the Hermantown High School athletics department, the City of Hermantown, Hermantown Amateur Hockey Association, Hermantown Arena board, Hermantown Boys High School Hockey program and the Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall Girls High School Hockey team.
